What is RTS? MCHRA runs a regional transit system (RTS), which is a door-to-door public transportation service. Their service-area includes Sumner County, Davidson County and 10 other counties.
Who can ride? Anyone can ride! Routine service is open to the general public. The RTS is especially suited for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Can I take the RTS van to the doctor's office? to the grocery store? to an appointment in Nashville? to a friend's house? Yes!
What is the cost of the ride? Fares run from $1.50 to $2.00 each way for trips within Sumner County. Out-of-county fares are based on the destination. The fare rate will be given when you make a reservation.
How can I schedule a ride? Please call (615) 452-5868 at least 24 hours in advance to make a reservation within Sumner County. Please call at least 72 hours in advance to schedule out-of-county reservations. RTS office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Are service animals permitted to accompany a rider? Yes.
Are Personal Care Attendants permitted to accompany a rider? Yes.
Are there any other rules? Just a few:
Please be ready for pickup 30 minutes before scheduled pick-up time.
Cancellations need to be made at least 2 hours before scheduled
pick-up times or charges may apply.
Drivers are not allowed to wait more than 5 minutes after arriving,
as this could make other passengers late for their appointments.
No smoking, eating or drinking on the bus.
